MISSION STATEMENT
Established in 2014 during her summer vacation from teaching, Riley Sheehey’s artist studio brings joy and beauty to people’s lives through whimsical illustration and hand-painted objects, surface design, and creative collaboration. Her artwork is inspired by nostalgia, children’s literature, and everyday life. While her work and new ventures are constantly evolving, she continues to prioritize incorporating personal elements in her art that connect the viewer with her practice.
Riley has had the opportunity to collaborate with an exciting range of clients, including interior designers, clothing and product designers, restaurant owners and major retailers. In addition to original artwork and prints, in 2021, Riley expanded her brand to include textiles and wallpaper.
about Riley
Riley Sheehey is a watercolor and multimedia artist and textile designer. Before becoming an artist full-time, she taught elementary school art and developed a love for whimsical styles and playful details. Her artwork reflects this childlike view of the world with fun color palettes and an attention to detail that evokes a viewer’s curiosity. She specializes in watercolor illustration and surface design, and has enjoyed the challenge of expanding her practice to incorporate textiles and wallpaper. Her first book, Modern Motherhood, will be published by Abrams in 2025. She lives in Falls Church, Virginia, with her husband, daughter, and dog.
