Solly Baby x Riley Sheehey, Spring 2025

I am thrilled to share that I’ve collaborated with Solly Baby on their newest print, Birthday Botanical, for spring 2025! Solly’s signature wrap, nursing cover, and Solly Dolly Wrap, are now available in this new print.

 I’ve been lucky enough to partner with Solly Baby twice before now- the first time I worked with them was in 2022, as a new mom to my now three-year-old daughter, Bryn. While a lot of my memories of early motherhood are very hazy, one thing I’ll never forget is that for the first few months of her life, Bryn would only take contact naps, which means that I took virtually all of my postpartum work calls and meetings with her attached to me in my Solly wrap. Needless to say, I became a fan for life, and so when Solly reached out last year with another opportunity to work together, I jumped at the chance.

When we started to brainstorm different concepts for the Birthday Botanical print, I spoke with the team at Solly about a series of small paintings of birth month flowers I made last year, and thought that might be something fun to explore further for our partnership, as many new parents purchase their wraps for their babies’ births. The print shares a color palette with my Modern Motherhood book, and since the art style of the book is inspired by antiques (antique Delft tiles, pottery, and textile design), we thought it would be fun to develop an antique-inspired print to coordinate. We pulled inspiration from 18th century textile samples, and the finished print  features each of the twelve birth month flowers.

I am so happy with how this print turned out, and cannot wait to see the products from this new collection in action.  The Solly wrap has become my go-to gift for friends and family who are expecting, and I’m pinching myself that the next few wraps I bring with me to baby showers will feature our collaborative design.
