Introducing the RS x Over The Moon Ornament Collection

I am so thrilled to share that I collaborated with one of my favorite brands, Over The Moon, on an exclusive collection of custom printed glass ornaments. The set of four ornaments, which feature designs inspired by The Nutcracker, is now available to shop.

I have been a fan of Over the Moon since the brand first started as a wedding blog, and referred to OTM many times throughout the planning process for my own wedding in 2018. Since they launched e-commerce and registries in 2020, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with them on several product design projects, and have continued to keep in touch with founder Alexandra Macon and buying director Emilie Ghilaga over the years.

It’s been a dream of mine for a long time now to find a way to custom print my artwork on ornaments, but it was important to me that they looked and felt like the baubles I have been hand-painting for years. I brought this up to Alex and Emilie on a call last year, and we began brainstorming ways that together, we could make it happen.

Seeing this project come to life has been a dream come true. The care that OTM put into every detail of this partnership-  from collaborating on the initial design process, to shooting the collection, to developing the custom packaging- was as elevated and inspiring as the beautiful brand they have created.

When brainstorming the initial concept for this capsule, we knew we wanted to use The Nutcracker as our jumping-off point. I have gone to see The Nutcracker each holiday season, and every year the ballet provides me with new whimsical painting inspiration. For these exclusive designs with Over The Moon, we decided to incorporate floral elements into each scene, to make the designs unique and representative of both of our brands.

When the finished ornament samples arrived at my studio over the summer, I was delighted to see that they are the same size and shape as the ornaments I hand-paint each year, and that the custom printed designs feature the same tiny details as the original watercolor paintings we started with. The ornaments are glass and tied off with velvet bows- they are really something else, and I really couldn’t be more honored to share them with you all!

I hope that this capsule brings joy to your tree and family for years to come, and am so grateful to Over The Moon for being my dream partners in bringing this special project to life!
